I believe in God – a poem

as fir trees sway far above my head
the breeze softly ripples my hair
the long grasses sway
and the flowers flush their scent
I know there is something
far knowing, far reaching,
than myself

as I hold a child in my arms
see the perfect fingers and toes
touch the soft skin
and smell the baby scent
I know there is something
far knowing, far reaching
than myself

This force resides within me
This force that dwells outside me
I call it, God.
