Jesus Wept

Your tears rush
down granite cheeks –

splashes the curve
of your neck.

My tongue licks
the holy elixer.

Corn silk sprouts
at my feet.

Published in A Flicker of Hope: Poems written by a Wegener’s Granulomatosis survivor in May 2011.

This poem was transcribed by my hubby while I was in a hospital bed. I couldn’t move and there was pain in every joint in my body.
